1.  Bridesmaiding, Run by comedian and blogger Rachel Rosenthal.  Rachel has offered us something that couldn’t be easily found before, a bridesmaiding site for normal women! It offers fresh modern perspectives and takes the guess work out of being a bridesmaid (and lets be honest here, it is not an easy task!) Bridesmaiding offers helpful tips, true stories and insider information on being a the best bridesmaid you can be, to yourself and to the bride.

2. Marie, Oh Marie. Miss Marie is one of the most beautiful, fun, spunky and creative ladies I have ever known. Her blog showcases her vast talent range of arts and crafts. With everything from fashion and home DIYS to fun thrifting finds. Bonus: You also get a glimpse into her life and her adorable dog Sophia.

3. The Suit Room. Boys, want to look better, smarter and all around more awesome? Check out The Suit Room. The blog of  Zachary Deluca of Newton Street Vintage. Zach has an innate fashion sense that spans decades. Whether running his own highly successful vintage menswear shop or his blog, Zach is more than happy to share his knowledge of mens fashion.

4. owl really is a fantastic blog run by Jaime. She shares her vintage finds, and general vintage eye candy.  She runs a vintage goods booth Owl Really at the Tennessee Antique Mall. If you live in the area, stop by she has a great eye and gorgeous inventory.

5.  Pop in America run by  Comedian and Blogger, Christine Cuddy shares her hilarious views on pop culture.  She also has an uncanny ability to formulate hilarious romantic comedy blurbs for people.  So if you ever need one, shoot her an email!

What is the Somerville Open Studios you ask? Here is a brief description from the SOS website:

“Somerville Open Studios (SOS) is a non-profit organization formed for the purpose of producing an annual open studio and related events in Somerville, Massachusetts.

Through its programming, SOS gives access to the work of visual artists living and working in the city of Somerville. We provide opportunities to view art made within the community; to interact with local artists; and to have access to artists’ working spaces. Our goal is to broaden the public’s exposure to, and appreciation of, finished works of art as well as the art-making process. This exposure both educates the community and raises awareness of the diverse artistic experience available in Somerville.”

Sounds like fun, huh? Well, it really is!  This will be my first year participating, but I attended the event the last two years. Basically, artists in Somerville open up their homes and studios for the public to come see and if they want, purchase their work.  The website is a great resource, and you can plan your routes ahead of time by searching artists by medium, area, name, etc.  There are downloadable maps on the website and hard copies all around Somerville showing the spots of participating artists and orange balloons in front of their spaces to help guide you as well.  Don’t love walking? Somerville will be providing free trolleys to take you to and from different parts of the city! It is very well organized and is a lot of fun.  So, if you are in the area, please stop by and say hello and check out some amazing work from our local artists.

This amazing application is user friendly and allows you to browse color palettes made by others, create your own by endlessly tweaking color selections or by uploading a photo to grab the color elements you want to create a palette.

You can use Kuler for inspiration for graphic design,  color schemes for a room, paint colors, craft ideas, photography, and so much more.

To use Kuler you can go directly to their site.  If you have the Adobe Creative Suite, you can download Switchboard from Adobe Labs and export a color scheme straight into Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.

They also have an app for Android users and are developing one for the iPhone/iPad.
