Suzani Fabric: From Tablecloth to Curtain

When I moved into my apartment, I didn’t know what to do with this great little pantry in the kitchen. I knew I wanted to cover it and  wanted a funky modern fabric with light blues and yellows with a hint of black. I happened to go to Target and stumbled upon this great suzani print table cloth from Dwell Studio for Target and immediately fell in love with it. So, I decided to make it into a pantry curtain. This is a perfect example of how easy it is to take a fabric you love and  turn it into something it wasn’t necessarily intended for.

I measured the doorway of the pantry, cut the excess fabric along the side and hemmed it. On the top, I folded over the fabric 1 and half inches to allow space for the rod to slip through and sewed it straight across.

I got a simple tension rod, slipped it through and was done!

The whole project cost $22 and took 25 minutes to do and the end result was exactly what I was looking for.
