Giving Each Other Space

Being married is something that every one has to look at from a different stand point.

Every single relationship is different and there is no rule book that is a one size fits all fixer to every single marriage.

You have to look at yours and decide what the best thing is for you and your spouse, after all, no one knows you two better, than you guys.

Sometimes when things become too much in a relationship, people want to run away, to escape the fighting, the drama, the heart ache, especially if it is all the time, every day and it would seem like there is no end in sight.

Having the feeling to run away from a bad situation is actually a normal reaction for a lot of people and it is just the way they know how to handle situations, they remove themselves from the area of problems to give themselves time to sit back and evaluate things from a peaceful distance.

If you are having trouble with your spouse and you notice that this is a trait that you or them seem to carry or that this is how they react to other situations in their life that do not involve you or vice versa, then maybe the best thing for your marriage is to take a break from one another for a week or a few days.

It is not a breaking up, it is simply the way that the two of you need to settle things between one another, it is of course, a last straw kind of deal, but it is one that might have the strongest effects (as long as you do it the right way and avoid mistakes that make things worse).

I mean, think about it, a lot of people when they are outsiders looking into a situation can come up with better ideas than people who are in the mix of all the chaos.

This same idea can be applied to marriage, when you are in the situation day in and day out it could seem hopeless and bleak like there will never be an end to the madness, but when you take a step back and allow yourself time to breath and really evaluate the whole idea, you might find that a solution is easier than you would have ever thought when you were sitting in the fire yourself.

It might sound like a stupid idea to some, while others, who have this type of personality, will be able to tell you first hand that stepping away from something when you are frustrated can be the best move, it is like when you are working on a really tough project and you have been at it for hours and hours and nothing seems to be working out and everything you try fails, then all of the sudden out of no where, you just walk away, telling yourself that you will come back with a fresh nights sleep or after a cup of coffee, just allowing yourself to look at it from a different mindset.

Then when you come back a few hours later, the answer to the problem could have been something really simple and then boom, problem solved.

It is important to remember that you cannot fix a situation with the same mindset that created the problem in the first place.
